This two-week special event is the perfect summer holiday outing. Join us for a free, family-friendly Viking Exhibition and Craft Displays—brought to life by the incredible Saga Vikings, packed with history, hands-on craft, and a rare peek into Viking life between 793 and 1066 A.D.
The Saga Vikings are a passionate Living History group dedicated to authentically recreating the daily life, dress, and craft of the Viking Age.
Usually found at major commercial festivals like Abbey Medieval Festival, this exhibition is a unique chance to explore their collection up close—all in one place, without the festival crowds or entry fees.
✨ What to expect:
🏠 Exhibition displays:
- A handmade model Viking Longhouse
- Viking clothing, jewellery, tools, homewares and other artefacts
- Items normally seen only in action—not static display!
🪡 Craft displays:
- Nalbinding – Viking “knitting”
- Embroidery – captivating Viking motifs with wool and cotton threads
- Viking weaving – inkle and card weaving for bands, belts and straps
This exhibition celebrates community, education, and shared history—a rare offering that’s both deeply researched and warmly accessible. Whether you're a curious kid, a history buff, or just looking for something special to do these holidays, you're welcome here.
